The ocelot has adapted a lot over the years. The first adaptation they made were the striped and sp- -otted fur to camouflage with their new environment. The second adaptation is them learning how to swim and adapting to have late night vision for hunting. Ocelots evolved from unknown ancestors from about 8 Mya. The environment that the ocelot lives in now has a high chance of the Amazon river to be flooded by the Atlantic Ocean. Ocelots would need salt glands to drink the water, so there is a high chance they adapt to have them. Some future environment adaptations for the ocelot could be the feline growing a thinner coat to be cooler when the earth warms.
