Currently, the toucan can grow up to 24 inches in length, and weigh up to 1.9 pounds. Its diet consists of fruits, nuts, and berries. They have long beaks and are often vibrant colors. There will be more effects of climate change, one of them being the extinction of many animals. Deforestation will erase the toucans' homes, so in the future they will only be found in captivity. The toucans will adapt to this by making their beaks thinner and less vibrant. Their thick beak is used to eat food, regulate body temperature, and as defense from predators. They will be getting fed food in an enclosed space, and they would have no predators near them, making these features unnecessary. Their vibrant feathers are used to blend into their environment. This would no longer help them. Also, in their new habitat all the plants are artificial and plastic.
