Modern and Future Sloths

Modern Sloths: Today, sloths live in the tropical forests of central and south america. They are slow for conserving energy. They are camouflage. Predicted Future Sloths: In the future because of global warming, the lush rainforest in south america where sloths live in south america became a desolate savana. The sloths are left with few homes because there are less trees. The sloths become smaller to fit in the trees. The sloths become fercer for fighting over their scarce homes. Their claws become sharper for fighting. The sloth's diet changes to the new plants that live there. Because it’s now hot in the sloth's habitat, the algae on their back dies making them no longer camouflage. They become more alert to predators because they’re no longer camouflage.
