The Capybara is a wonderful and fascinating creature that lives in the wetlands and rainforests in South America. They are herbivores, and their diet mainly consists of grasses and water plants. Capybaras have webbed feet to help swim. In centuries to come, the habitats that they are currently living in will turn into savannas. The capybara aren’t able to run very fast, so they will adapt to have stronger and less stubby legs. This will enable them to run away from predators. The second adaptation they will have is a hump on their back. This will help store more body fat and water for hydration and nutrients when they are scarce. The final adaptation that they will have is the slightly lighter color of fur they have. This will help them camouflage into the lighter sand color of the savannas. Those are the adaptations capybaras will have in the future.
