Parrots live in tropical areas. They use bright colors to blend in with brightly colored flowers and plants and attract mates. Their feet are flexible to grip & eat food. As babies, parrots are gray because their colored feathers haven’t come in yet. The future desert parrot is spotted with brown wings and is tinier. They have to be feisty to take other animals’ burrows and make them into their own nests. Their eggs are brown and spotted to blend in with the grass so that they don’t get eaten. The adult parrots are also spotted for camouflage. They eat insects and any seeds or nuts they can find. They swallow rocks to help digest their food. They can be active in both day and night, but they prefer night because it’s cooler.
