Sloths’ diet consists mainly of leaves, but sometimes they heat small animals too. Sloths are found throughout Central America and northern South America, including parts of Brazil and Peru. They live high in the trees of tropical rainforests, where they spend most of their time curled up or hanging upside down from branches. In the future sloths will have a new environment. Predicted to be a savanna, they will have no more trees to hang on so they will have to start crawling on the floor. For this they will have to have an arched back, in order for them to crawl on their legs. They will most likely live in burrows to avoid the heat, so they will need sharp claws to dig holes in the ground. They will start eating mostly insects like scorpions, grubs and ants. They will also need stronger teeth to eat the small animals.
