Sloths

In the future deforestation might destroy the sloth’s habitats, so the sloth species may want to camouflage with the ground. Also because the sloths have to be on the ground they would need to eat more so they have enough energy to escape predators. Another adaptation that the sloth would have is to move on all 4 legs to be close to the ground. Sloths having more energy would also contribute to the next adaptation which would give them shorter, but larger claws to help with digging or burrowing.
