Present: Current giant anteaters are dark gray-brown. They have long thin tongues to anthills. They have short claws with some markings near their feet. Their average height/length is around 5-6 feet and they have thick bodies with short hair at the top and long hair near the bottom. Giant anteaters, or the first anteater type to come to mind, are bigger with less predators and longer claws to fight them off. Future: Future anteaters are a lighter color, due to less trees which means more sunlight and sand. They also have longer claws to open bigger anthills and fight off it’s bigger predators in the savanna, like jaguars and pumas. Since savannas have less humidity and there is more direct sunlight, they may have less fur. They will have longer eyelashes to keep dust from entering the eyes. They will have a thicker tongue to cool themselves down by evaporation.
