The Scarlet Macaw lives in the Amazon, but climate change is affecting its habitat. Currently, the Macaw has a curved beak which makes it easier to break open nuts. It also has very bright colors. As climate change causes trees to thin and habitats to change, the Scarlet Macaw will need to adapt. Its colors may become lighter so that it can camouflage better because it will have fewer trees to hide in. It might also develop stronger claws and thicker feathers in order to withstand more extreme weather events. As plants thin, there will be less access to nuts, so the Macaw might result to eating bugs in order to have a larger food source. This means that it will need its eyes to get bigger in order to see the bugs on the ground. It may also develop a shorter, and more pointed beak to eat bugs easier.
