In the present, the Ara macao is a tropical rainforest parrot who in the future will live in a parched area, a desert. The bird currently lives in rainforests in Trinidad, Peru, Southern Mexico, Bolivia, and Brazil, and in the future, it will live in an environment like the Kalahari desert in Africa. Its future Latin name will be the Macao fuscus. It will lose its beautiful variety of colors over time as the usual foods full of carotenoids that they eat will not be available to them. In the desert, they will reduce their diet to only small rodents causing their feathers to turn brown. Its beak will expand over time due to the size of the rodents that they will eat. Its tail will be shorter and curved because they will not have to fly as their food will be low on the ground.
