The Gaboon Viper has a special pattern on its body to help it camoflauge in leaf litter where it stays for the day. It is a nocturnal animal with fangs that are two inches long and that has the most venom yield of any snake. This snake lives in Eastern-Central Africa in the Rainforest and Wet areas. In 1,000 years the rainforest will now be a dry savanna and the Gaboon viper will change its diet to eating; Meerkats, Bugs and/or insects, and Elephant shrews. The gaboon viper will change its pattern to blend in with the tan, tall grass and its body will change to make it climb in the trees to pounce onto its prey and have a good meal. Its fangs will now be three inches long to have more force when biting its prey. The Gaboon Viper will use these adaptations to survive in the savanna.
