My animal is an okapi. An okapi is a part of the same family tree as the zebra, the horse, the pony and the giraffe. Okapis are native to the DRC. Their ears/bodies help them blend in to their surroundings, making it hard for predators to try and find them.
This helps in sensing predators because then they can know where to go. Their diet consists of herbivore things–plants (such as leaves and buds), and they like to eat fruit as well.
Now, we will get into their future adaptation. Some studies show that animals may adapt to new changes and that they might be changing how they behave, turning around their environment, and they might also be going through new physical changes. Okapis can connect to the physical modifications piece of this section because they will have shorter necks, because their food will be in easy reach for them.
