The current capybara has webbed feet to swim. They also are herbivores, and they eat their own feces. They have many predators like the jaguar, pumas, and boa constructors. They also live in groups with up to 40 other capybaras.
I think that they will adapt to becoming smaller about the size of a beaver but have qualities like a mouse like a long tail, and dig tunnels underground. They will come up every now and then to eat plants and I think they will also adapt to eating bugs. They will need good hearing to find and escape other predators. They also need a good sense of smell to sniff out bugs. Also, they will need to have claws instead of flippers to dig tunnels. They will need a tan color to blend in with the sand.
