The Scarlet Macaw lives in Southern Mexico and Northern Argentina. This bird can live from 50-100 years.a nother is that they can mimic a human’s voice. They eat fruits and seeds. They weigh up to 2 pounds. Their height is 32-29 inches. There are around 20,000 to 50,000 Scarlet Macaws left. Deforestation affects the macaw’s ability to raise their young.
The Scarlet Macaw needs to have a wingspan of about 45-48 inches long so that they can easily glide through the air when the trees are cut down. When they come down to the floor to rest they can adjust their claws to sit flat on the ground. When they eat they will add insects into their diet such as beetles, ants, and lastly white-kneed crickets. The new name of this animal will be Ara macao meaning Scarlet Macaw in the language Tupi from Brazil.
