The jaguar lives in the tropical lowlands of the rainforest. Its name comes from the word yaguar which means he who kills with one leap. Their diet includes fish, rodents, and deer. Jaguars have the ability to climb trees and are phenomenal swimmers. Jaguars are afraid of humans due to humans hunting them which has reduced 20% of their population. They are also large felines
Climate change and deforestation have changed the rainforest, causing animals to struggle to adapt to their habitats. Jaguars will adapt to their new habitat by getting a slightly darker pelt, making Jaguars in more so hunters can not see them at night, which is also when they are hunting. Jaguars will be slightly smaller to not be seen when hunting at night. Jaguars will also have longer whiskers to feel their surroundings and trust what's around their area, and a longer tail for better balance.
