Orangutans live in the southeast Asian islands of Borneo along the Equator. The islands' varied ecoregions and tropical temperatures have produced environments that support thousands of rare species, including the last orangutans in the world. Orangutans lead solitary lives in the lowland forests where they inhabit. They drink water from tree holes and eat wild fruits. They build nests in vegetative trees so they may relax during the day and sleep at night. However the primary threat to orangutans is the extensive loss of their natural habitat due to climate change, logging, agricultural expansion, and infrastructure development. Deforestation fragments their habitats, isolating populations and limiting their ability to find food and mates. Due to climate change and deforestation, orangutans' behaviors would change, their physical body, and diet. Every adaptation would serve as a survival mechanism, assisting orangutans in overcoming challenging obstacles in their environment and guaranteeing their continued existence.
