Ocelots inhabit mainly tropical forests in the South American Amazon. They prefer to live in dense forest cover, nearby water sources, and in non-steep/elevated areas.
Traits they have adapted to suit their environment is gold brown fur and spots to camouflage, hunt, or hide. They have round ears that form a barrier to the sound behind so they can focus prey ahead. They are also mainly nocturnal.
Due to climate change and human activity there habitats are facing increased temperatures, tree/vegetation loss, habitat fragmentation, droughts, and fires that occur more often.
The new traits I think they will adapt is brown/darker fur to blend in with the dirt. Smaller body due to less food. Pointed ears to hear all-around them for prey and predators. Longer legs for better running and jumping to catch prey. Finally they will be active at all hours to catch more prey.
