Today’s elephants have to contend with heat and sea level rise, which impacts their habitats.Over the course of thousands of years these factors have changed their appearances and other physical aspects. For example, elephants could have developed brown fur to blend in better to dry, savanna like areas or loss of tusks to aid in new feeding habits or to prevent being hunted. In coastal areas, where the rainforests turn into marshes or are submerged, elephants would need to evolve features like webbed feet to allow them to traverse the wetlands and even improve their swimming skills. Even as rainforests inch closer towards becoming savanna or woodlands, elephants might develop traits such as stronger limbs to help them travel through the more open grassland or turns to consume shrubs and grass.Climate change may alter there living style, may loss of teeth reflect their ability to find food and defense against predator.
