Green and black poison dart frogs are small creatures that live in the rainforests in Central and South America. They have toxins in their skin that help protect them from predators. They live in trees and they like dark, damp, and humid environments. They have sticky pads on their feet that allow them to climb trees and the water in the rainforest allows them to reproduce easily.
Rising temperatures, deforestation, and intense storms due to climate change could impact their habitat and their ability to survive. If this happens, they may need to relocate to another water source. Two possible adaptations that might help them survive could be webbed feet and keeping their gills into adulthood. The webbed feet would help them swim and the gills would help them to breathe underwater. They would have to learn to hunt from the water instead of from the trees.
