My prediction for the future is that snakes will have the ability to breathe underwater longer because of them being in water more than usual. The scene is 2125 and the rail forest floods do you more heavy rail, and the snakes from the trees and the ground are first to swim in the 20 feet deep water and learn how to hold their breath longer than usual, causing them to increase their breath by 30-40 minutes under water.
