The tree runner lizard lives throughout the Southwestern United States. They live in the tropical rainforest. This animal is covered in scales that helps against dehydration. They have short arms, long legs, and a long tail for swimming. This animal can tolerate a broader temperature than birds and mammals. Their coverings do not function as insulators. Instead, their body covering of scales mostly function to protect them against water loss. In the future, The tree runner lizard will have shorter legs and a longer tail. They would start living in grass because the trees are dying. Which would make it even more easier for all its predators to eat them. They move by using a side to side motion or “standing wave” of their body, while their limbs propel them forward. It eats crickets, mealworms, waxworms, and superworms. It is a carnivore.
