The animal I reimagined was the scarlet macaw, which inhabits rainforests in Central and South America, such as the Amazon rainforest. The bird inhabits areas like these to get its supply of food, such as seeds, fruits, and nuts. The bird also visits natural mineral deposits to obtain sodium and calcium. In the future, the rainforest environment which the scarlet macaw inhabits may be partially or fully submerged underwater, and heat may lead a decrease of the original flora in the area. Both of these are probable results of unchecked climate change. To cope with the increased heat, my incarnation of the scarlet macaw sports fewer feathers. It has also evolved longer legs in order to grab food which lies just underwater. In addition, he future macaw will likely develop an expanded diet in order to deal with the changing flora and fauna of the region.
