Sloths live in the rainforest and they are the slowest mammals in the world. They will adapt to climate change by having less fur and longer tongues. They will need less fur because it may get hotter in the rainforest and they will be able to stay cool.
They will need longer tongues because sloths usually store bugs in their fur. If they have less fur, it is more likely that bugs will bite the sloths. Sloths will grasp the bugs from the branches and use their spiky, long tongue to saw the food.
Sloths’ environment will look a little different because there will still be trees but not as many. Sloths will still live in the trees but in the understory layer. Sloths are my favorite animals so I hope they adapt well to climate change.
