Electric eels are elongated fish with a smooth cylindrical body, typically reaching 6-8 feet in length. They have specialized electric organs that can generate powerful electrical discharges. They are primarily found in the slow moving murky fresh water rivers and streams of the Amazon. Electric eels will cope with climate change, specifically rising water temperatures and pollution. They will develop longer, more flexible bodies, thicker skin for protection. They may grow sharp, spine like spikes for defense and whisker like sensory appendages to detect prey and navigate in low visibility waters. Their electric organs may become larger, and their fins stronger to adapt to turbulent currents caused by more extreme weather events. Specialized jaws and better camouflage would help them survive in increasingly challenging environments.
