The Giant Otter

The Giant Otter will have to make adaptations in the future due to climate change. Climate change can result in habitat loss, rising water levels, and changes to food sources. The Amazon Rainforest is being deforested at an alarming rate, which could impact their habitats. The giant otter will have to seek new territories for a new habitat. Rising sea levels will make an impact because it leads to flooding their coastal habitats and putting additional stress on their population due to competition for limiting resources. Their food sources will have to change because their diet consists of fish. However, fish will be impacted due to rising water temperatures, negatively impacting their population. Therefore, the otters’ diet will have to become more diverse. The Giant Otter is being significantly impacted by climate change and they will need to make many changes in order to survive in the future.
