The capybara is the largest rodent that lives in the Amazon rainforest. It has webbed feet, dense fur, with its nose, ear, and eyes near the top of their head to stay underwater for a long time. They have a low body shape so they can run and turn faster. In the future, due to the rising temperatures and the need for more wood, the Amazon rainforest will probably be scarce of trees, food, and water. Because of this the capybara might have to get some new adaptations. First, the capybara will have a lighter fur color so it can take in less heat and camouflage easier. It will lose the webs on its feet since there isn’t anymore water. The capybara will get leaner and have longer legs so it has less body weight and so it can run quicker.
