Giant Otters usually live in the rainforest, where they are at the top of the food chain. They dig their burrows on land but go into rivers and ponds for food.
Climate change will force otters to constantly regulate their body temperature. In 100,000 years, their main habitat will be aquatic. With rising sea levels, they will adapt to thrive in aquatic environments. They will develop better hearing to help them find prey, gills to for increased underwater survival, sharper claws instead of webbed feet for digging, a higher metabolic rate to better regulate body temperature and a poison stinger for self-defense in their habitats, since they will no longer be the apex predator. Luckily, they will have their main food supply even more readily available, fish!
