The brown throated, three toed sloth lives within the South and Central portions of the Amazon Rainforest in Brazil. The sloth habits the canopy layer of the rainforest. Thriving off bugs, twigs, shrubs, being a very slow and docile creature. Slowly the increased temperature causes these sloths to go down in the layer to the understory to protect itself from the heat. The sloth undergoes changes to its height becoming smaller and its fur lightening from the base temperature increasing. Becoming smaller allows the sloth to become access to more cooler areas of the rainforest, reducing the need to eat more as well when some types of plant life dry up.
