The ocelot is kind of like a mini leopard! Actually, another name for an ocelot is a “painted leopard”. They have 2 stripes on their cheeks, and a stripe which runs from the top of each eye over their head. For every 3 hours of hunting, they catch one item of prey. There are currently 800,000 to 1.5 million ocelots in the world today.
In the future, the ocelot will change to the different environments of the rainforest. The rainforest could be more of a swampy place. The ocelot will adapt to it, and become more dark color looking, to blend in with the swamp. The ocelot can still do three hours of hunting, but it would take breaks in between from searching in the long, grassy leaves. And because meat is so hard to find, the ocelot can become an omnivore, instead of eating meat all the time.
