The Fat Belly Arapaima is just a regular arapaima... but with a fat belly. The reason for the fat belly is because of the little pores that now take place there. These pores can detect electric waves, which help with sensing prey. Sharks use these same pores, which is also why hammerhead sharks have hammerheads. For more space for pores. Fat Belly Arapaimas are also a lot longer and stronger than regular arapaimas. This is to be a better hunter and less able to be killed. The new arapaima is now bigger, so it needs more food to sustain itself, so it evolved to have a much bigger mouth so it can eat bigger prey. There are also some behavioral changes. Instead of the father protecting the young in a specific area the arapaimas will latch onto the father arapaima for extra protection and food.
