Currently, rainforests are composed of many unique species of animals, one of which being the jaguar. The jaguar uses its current traits to optimize life in its habitat, however climate change is rapidly altering the environment.
With changing temperatures and increased droughts, the rainforest is anticipated to become a savanna. Considering this, the jaguar will have to develop a variety of new traits to combat the struggles of life in a different home.
Some adaptations the jaguar may undergo are larger ears to expel heat, larger paws and paw pads to avoid burning their feet while walking, duller fur and spots to reflect instead of absorb sunlight, dark spots under the eyes to reduce glare from the sun, and a larger build to take down bigger prey.
Along with physical changes, they may develop psychological and social changes, such as living in prowls for a better chance at hunting food.
