The ocelot is a medium-sized spotted wild cat that is 16-20 inches in size that are good at tree-climbing. Its fur is extensively marked with solid black markings on a creamy and tawny background. They feast on small animals like rodents, lagomorphs, armadillos, opossums, and fish. It's native to the rainforest in South America.
In the future when rainforest is replaced by grasslands because of global warming, the ocelots might become gray in color to blend in with the grass and sleep in caves for shelters. Ocelots may need to learn to walk and run on the land for hunting and may develop rock-climbing skills instead of tree-climbing.
If the global warming gets worse faster than the ocelot species can evolve to adapt, ocelots may disappear forever. Before that happens, people should stop cutting down rainforest trees, live environmental-friendly lifestyle, and protect the ocelots to preserve their population.
