My favorite rainforest animal is the chimpanzee. It eats leaves and fruits and lives in the trees. If people keep turning the forests into farmlands, the chimpanzees will have less food to eat and will lose their natural habitat. Trees can help to preserve water and to produce Oxygen. If we continue to cut down trees, the land will lose it's ability to hold water and carbon dioxide level will increase. This will cause global warming and turn the rainforest to grasslands and even deserts. The populations of animals and plants will greatly decrease and may become extinct. If the chimpanzee does not extinct, its future generation may become slim and skinny because there will a lot less food to eat and its habitat will be harsh. We should promote awareness of protecting the rainforest so that the chimpanzee's and human's future generations will have a healthy earth to live.
