Dunacaw

For my future creature, I choose the parrot species. Parrots are beautiful creatures, with colorful feathers and strong beaks. In the present day, parrots live in lush rainforests and are most commonly found in the Amazon rainforest, which is located in Brazil. These rainforests are extremely humid and have lots of shade due to the surrounding trees. In the future, parrots will adapt to a warmer, drier climate caused by climate change and deforestation. They may develop thinner feathers to help release heat, wider throats to consume more water all at once, and could also develop sweat glands to better regulate their body temperature. These adaptations will make sure they survive in a difficult world.
