The Giant anteater, a unique mammal found in Central and South America, has a highly specialized tongue and an elongated snout for feasting on ants and termites. There are four species of anteater - each adapted to their environment. Deforestation and climate change expose anteaters to their predators while simultaneously dwindling their food supply. If the Giant Anteater continues to adapt to its changing climate, it would develop a longer tongue and stronger, sharper claws to help extract insects from scarce food sources. The fur would become thinner and lighter so it can blend into its new savanna-like environment. The anteater's size would also shrink due to the lack of food.
