The capybara is a large rodent that comes from the tropical rainforest. It has brown fur, short legs, and webbed feet. It eats grasses and plants while it makes social groups to provide safety. Its habitat is filled with trees, fresh water sources, and various vegetation.
Years from now, due to global warming, the tropical rainforest becomes flooded and turns to swampland. The capybara will develop even bigger webbed feet and a thinner coat to swim and cool off faster. Its eyelids and nostrils will sit above its head so it can breathe underwater. With less tree cover and more water, the capybaras will need to swim to feed and evade predators. These adaptations will help them survive in a better, sustainable altered environment.
