Black Caiman

My animal is the black caiman. As the Amazon Rainforest and Amazon river changes, so will the black caiman. The fish population in the amazon wetlands has only decreased over time and are reproducing less. Due to fish being the caiman’s main food source, I predict that the species will slowly start to move above water for food. So, as their surroundings change, their legs will soon become longer and more sturdy for running above water. Another physical change would be their color. Obviously the name means proves they mostly come in a black variation, but they are also able to come in a brown coloring. As green trees and shrubs start to disappear, the ecosystem will take on a more murky, brown color. This will allow for brown caiman to catch more prey and slowly become the main variation. This is how climate change will affect the black caiman.
