The present-day poison dart frog lives in tropical rainforests near water, using its bright colors to warn predators of its toxic skin. It thrives in humid environments and has strong legs for jumping and navigating the forest floor. In the future, as habitats change, the frog may develop duller colors for camouflage, tougher skin to survive pollution, and larger toe pads for climbing in drier or urban environments. It may adapt to new water sources and changing temperatures to survive.
