Present and Future Anteaters

Anteaters are highly specialized predators which live in rainforests and savannahs all over the world. The anteaters diet consists of, you guessed it, ants! They are hunted by jaguars, pumas, and anacondas, but they can usually fend for themselves due to their insanely sharp claws. Their fur is very dark which is not very helpful since rainforests will be transitioning into savannahs which are usually described as yellow. They also hunt in mud trying to find insects. My prediction is that their claws will become wider to help them scoop up mud more efficiently. My second prediction for the future based on this information is that their fur will turn lighter to help with camouflage in savannahs so as to avoid their predators.
