The Binturong is native to Southern Asia. Typically keeping to themselves in Asia's dense vegetation, the Binturong uses its advanced physical features to navigate the jungles. They have a long prehensile tail used for grasping branches for balance and support when climbing, ankles that can rotate 180 degrees allowing them to descend trees headfirst, sharp claws used for climbing, and scent glands in their tails used to communicate with other Binturong's and mark territory. Over time as their habitats change the Binturong will be forced to make crucial adaptations for their survival. The Binturong may adapt to longer fore and hind limbs for quicker land travel and end up losing it's tail as there will be less trees for them to climb. Their paws could become more compact and cup shaped to burrow into the ground to escape the heat, also developing longer whiskers for a heightened sense of smell.
