The Future Sloth Project

My animal is a baby sloth. It lives in the jungle and eats leaves. It has a gray-brown color, and moves very slowly. Their slow motion helps them hide from their predators. It has claws for climbing, hanging, and defense. The moss and algae they grow on their backs allow them to hide in the trees. In the future, the environment is going to change to a savanna. There will be less trees to find food in, but there will be more bushes for leaves. They will need to adapt to this food source. They are going to need longer arms to swing farther to get from tree to tree. They will need lots of speed to get from tree to tree to avoid predators that can climb trees. Their claws will be sharp enough to smooth out the bark so that their swinging isn’t painful.
