In the present, the golden dart frog lives in a coastal rainforest. It eats ants, beetles, and caterpillars, and gets their poison from what they eat. It is colored goldish yellow, orange, and black to warn its predators that it is poisonous. In the future, the ecosystem will become completely underwater. It will eat smaller fish of any kind and use echolocation to find its prey. It will develop gills to breathe underwater and the texture and color of the golden dart frog will look sandy so that it can camouflage. It will have spikes so that it can be protected from predators and it will need sharp teeth to bite into the fish that it eats.
