Known for their pink skin, the Amazon river dolphin has been found in Bolivia, Brazil, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, and Venezuela. It lives in freshwater environments such as river systems, streams, and even flooded forests. Due to the droughts and heat climate change causes, there may not be many places for them to live anymore. Their water levels are lowering, and the water is becoming too warm, which causes the oxygen levels lower, and the fish the dolphins eat die. The dolphins will have very habitat, and not a lot of food. The species is already endangered, too. There is a good chance that they will continue to die out at a faster rate. Their pink coloring will dull over time, since it is caused by blood vessels and becomes brighter with more excitment and social interaction. Overall, the future is not looking good for the Amazon river dolphin.
