The green tree python is a green snake that lives in the tropical rainforest of Oceania.
They have a long snout, bright green skin to blend in with vines, and a diet of small mammals and birds. Deforestation causes the tree habitats for the green tree python to change. The trees where it lived would be chopped down. The python’s skin would become a darker greenish brown to blend into the ground instead of vines. Its snout would be shorter to burrow underground. Its diet would not have birds anymore because they wouldn't live in the trees and the shorter snout would make them eat smaller animals.
