PRESENT
The Collared anteaters live in coastal rainforests. Coastal rainforests require wet hot seasons and they tend to have much biodiversity, and tend to have very old trees. Anteaters tend to eat insects such as ants and termites, they use their long tongue to grab the insect for eating, and their claws for smashing termite mounds.
FUTURE
Climate change will cause glaciers to melt, and the sea level would rise, causing the collared ant eater’s home to become a wetland. The world will get much hotter so the collared anteater would develop a lighter furcoat because lighter fur is cooler. To help avoid predators it would develop camouflage, with light brown fur and rugged stripes of green. It would also develop stronger claws to fight back. Finally it would develop pseudo thumbs to help climb and grip things, to make finding homes easier, and to scavenge for bugs more.
