An aye-aye lives in the Madagascar rainforest. The aye-aye rainforest is located on the eastern coast of the island of Magarascar, which is off of Africa. The temperature in the Madagascar rainforest is a range of 28 degrees on cool winter nights. The landscape is dense, humid evergreen forests with tall, layered canopies that rise from lowlands. The amount of rainfall is between 2,000 mm and 3,000 mm (79 to 118 inches). The aye aye has a large, bushy tail, shaggy dark fur that helps it blend in at night. The aye aye rainforest habitats threatened are deforestation for agriculture (such as sugar cane and coconut plantations), logging, and human settlement.
