Golden lion tamarins have many current adaptations. Some of their adaptations include long hands to swing through trees and claws to help them stay on the tree. They reside in a rainforest known as the Mata Atlântica in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with an average temperature of 77°F. But sadly, they are losing their environment due to deforestation, and with the little of their habitat left, it is surrounded by roads, cities, and farms. Due to this change, they will have to adapt. Their future adaptations will be living mostly on the ground and having shorter arms to run away from their prey and sharper claws to defend themselves.
