The creature that I have chosen for this project is the giant otter, this animal lives in the Amazon Rainforest and is primarily an amphibious creature. Their adaptations, which are for water include: webbed feet, fully sealable ears and nostrils, water repellent fur, and sharp teeth to eat fish properly. These adaptations help them survive in the environment that they currently live in, but unfortunately these adaptations are going to change. The Amazon Rainforest is sadly suffering deforestation and because of this the Amazon will eventually dry up and become a sahara. This process will change the giant otter as they will develop new adaptations including: Normal feet as they don’t need it to swim, same with webbed feet and ears and nostrils that close in the water, their teeth will no longer be sharp because they don’t have any more meat to chew if there is no more water.
