Today, Agalychnis callidryas more commonly known as Red-Eyed tree frogs can be found in Costa Rica. They live in swamps in the rainforest. The most common habitat being swamps. Red-Eyed tree frogs are found in trees most of the time. Their diet is flies, mosquitoes, and even smaller frogs. The Red-Eyed tree frog has bright eyes and flanks that are used to scare away predators. In the future Red Eyed tree frogs will face challenges from habitat loss such as deforestation. Deforestation destroys the frogs' homes and breeding grounds. Another challenge Red Eyed tree frogs may face is global warming which may dry out the rainforest, causing a drought. Pollution may also kill off the population of Red eyed tree frogs. This species of frogs may die off or may disappear entirely. They would have to no longer live in trees or be dependent on water to live.
