Currently, Golden Lion Tamrins are small monkeys with bright orange fur. It is endangered which means there are not many of them left. Long ago, people cut down forests to build homes, farms, and roads. This took away the tamarin’s food and shelter. In the 1970s, only about 200 were left. Scientists and zoos helped protect them. There are about 3000. They also help forests by spreading seeds. In the year 4026, rainforests may change into grasslands or marshes, and forests may break into small patches. It may also get hotter with less food. To survive, the Golden Lion Tamarin may have to adapt. Its fur could turn green-gold for camouflage. Its arms and tail might grow longer to reach far trees. It might grow stronger teeth to eat harder food, and bigger eyes to spot predators in open areas. These big changes will help it survive.
